Income Tax Return (ITR) filing process is not complete unless the filed ITR is verified by the taxpayer. You can verify your ITR online or offline. You can e-Verify your return within 120 days from the date of filing a return. One of the easiest ways to e-Verify ITR is through Bank Account Option. You can e-verify ITR using the bank account option or using one of the following ways:

  1. Aadhar OTP,
  2. Net banking,
  3. Demat account or
  4. Bank ATM.

Steps to e-Verify ITR using Bank Account Option

  1. Go to the Income Tax e-Filing Portal

    Log in to your account on the Income Tax e-Filing portal. Income Tax e-Filing Portal - Homepage

  2. Navigate to e-Verify Return option

    Click on click on My Account > e-Verify Return. ITD e-filing_e-Verify_ITR-V

  3. Click on e-Verify option

    A pop up will be displayed asking for your confirmation.E-verify return

  4. Select Option 2

    I do not have an EVC and I would like to generate EVC to e-Verify my return from e-Verify ITR Options. e-verify-ITR-options

  5. Select the appropriate option

    Click EVC – Through Bank Account Numbere-veirify through-bank-account-option

  6. Enter the required details

    You’ll need to enter a few details regarding your Bank account like Account number, IFSC, etc. You need to pre-validate your Bank account number first.

  7. Hence, you can generate an EVC

    You’ll get the EVC on the registered mobile number of your Bank account. Enter this EVC and click on submit. You’ll get a confirmation message with transaction ID – which means you’ve completed the e-Verification of your ITR.
