Income Tax e-filing Registration on Income Tax Website
It is mandatory to register on the Income Tax Department (ITD) website, to be able to e-file ITR from the ITD website. You can also download your Form 26AS from your income tax e-filing account.
Step by Step guide to registering on Income Tax Department Website:
Step 1. Go to Income Tax Department E-filing Website
Step 2. Click on Register Yourself in the right sidebar.
Step 3. Select User Type from the drop-down list and click on continue
Step 4. Enter Basic Details such as PAN, Name, DOB/DOI and Residential Status
Step 5. Enter Password Details, Contact Details and Address Details and click on continue
Step 6. Enter E-mail OTP and Mobile OTP and click on Validate to finish the Registration Verification process. If you do not receive OTP then you can click on Resend OTP generate new OTP.
Step 7. Once OTP Verification is done, the message of successful registration will be shown on the screen.
