Change Password – Step-by-Step Procedure: GST Portal

  1. Access the GST Portal.

    Visit the GST Login portal and Login with your Credentials.

  2. Click on the user name on the dashboard to access the Change Password option from the drop-down.

    The user name is located on the top right corner of the page.change-password-on-gst-portal

  3. We move to the Change Password page.

    Enter the old password that you used to log in.

  4. Enter the New Password that you wish to use to log in to the GST Portal.

    The new password should match the criteria given below in the image.

  5. Re-enter the new password in the re-confirm field.

A message confirming the changes will be displayed. The user can now login using their new credentials.

How long is my password valid for on the GST portal?

The new password changed on the GST portal will remain valid for 120 days.

I have forgotten my password on the GST portal. How do I reset it?

Visit the GST login page.
Click on the forgot password button.
Enter the username that you have created while logging in to the portal the first time.
Enter the captcha code displayed in the image.
Click on the Generate OTP button after filling the required details.
The OTP will be sent to the users’ registered e-mail address and mobile number. 
Enter the OTP and click on continue.
After the OTP is verified, we move to the New Credentials Page.
Enter the same password into the Re-confirm password section.
Click on the submit button.

I have forgotten my username on the GST portal. How do I retrieve it?

Visit the GST login page.
Click on the forgot username button.
Fill in the Provisional ID/GSTIN/UIN that we had previously received over the mail.
Fill in the characters displayed in the Captcha code.
Click on the Generate OTP button.
The OTP is sent to the registered e-mail address and the mobile number. Enter the OTP.
Click on Submit.
