A consolidated e-Way Bill (EWB) is generated whenever the supplier feels the need to transport multiple consignments of goods in a vehicle. In other words, if a single vehicle is transporting multiple consignments belonging to the same supplier, there is no need to deal with separate EWB for each consignment. They would rather generate a consolidated EWB. This makes things easier for both, the transporter and the supplier. Therefore, the transporter will only have to carry a single document. The users can also create the consolidated EWB in bulk.
The prerequisites to generate a consolidated EWB are as follows:
- Registration on the e-Way Bill Portal
- You should have the Invoice/ Bill/ Challan related to the consignment of goods
- Transporter ID or the Vehicle number (for transport by road)
- Transporter ID, Transporter document number, and date on the document (for transport by rail, air, or ship)
- Apart from those, the taxpayer must have all the individual e-Way Bill numbers of the consignments, to be transported in one conveyance

FAQs
The transporter can generate the consolidated e-Way Bills for the movement of multiple consignments in one vehicle.
The consolidated e-Way Bill (CEWB) contains the details of different EWBs in respect of various consignments being transported in one vehicle and these EWBs will have different validity periods. Therefore, the consolidated EWB does not have any independent validity. However, individual consignment specified in the Consolidated EWB should reach the destination as per the validity period of the individual EWB.
The option “Regenerate CEWB” under the “Consolidated EWB” drop-down list allows you to change the vehicle number to the existing consolidated EWB without changing the individual EWBs. Therefore, this would generate a new Consolidated EWB. Therefore, this new CEWB has to be carried with the new vehicle.
Yes, the CEWB can have the goods or EWBs which will be delivered to multiple locations as per the individual EWB included in the CEWB. If the CEWB is generated with 10 EWBs to move 3 consignments to destination Y and 7 consignments to destination X, then on the way the transporter can deliver 3 consignments to destination Y out of 10 and move with remaining 7 consignments to the destination X with the same CEWB. Alternatively, two CEWB can be generated one for 3 consignments for destination Y and another CEWB for 7 consignments for destination X.
Hey @ViraajAhuja47
Yes. All the registered persons under GST must register on the portal of e-way bill using their GSTIN. Once GSTIN is entered, the system sends an OTP to the registered mobile number, registered with GST Portal and after authenticating the same, the system enables you to generate your username and password for the e-way bill system.
After the generation of the username and password of your choice, you may proceed to make entries to generate an e-way bill.
Hope this helps!
Hey @TeamQuicko
How is the validity of the e-way bill calculated?
Hey @HarshitShah
The validity period of the e-Way Bill is calculated on the basis of ‘approx. distance’ entered while generating the e-Way Bill. For every 100 KM, one day is a validity period for the e-Way Bill as per rule and for part of 100 KM, one more day is added. For example, If approx. distance is 410KMs then the validity period is 4+1 days.
