Completed e-filing? Well, the process doesn’t end there. e-Verification is compulsory after e-filing. e-Verification should happen within 120 days of e-filing your ITR. Because ITR is only processed once it is e-verified by a taxpayer. You can e-Verify ITR using Axis net banking services.

Steps to e-Verify ITR using Axis Net Banking

  1. Go to Axis Bank Site

    Log in to your Axis net banking portal.Axis Net Banking Login Page

  2. Navigate to Income Tax e-Filing option

    Click on “Services > Tax services > Income Tax e-filing” from the top bar. Axis Net Banking - Income Tax e-Filing Option

  3. Confirm your account number

    Confirm the account number shown on the screen. Axis Net Banking - Confirm Account Number

  4. Enter the required details

    Fill in your Account number and PAN. Accept the terms & conditions and click on proceed.Axis income tax confirm

  5. You will be redirected to the Income tax e-filing portal.

    From the top bar select “My accounts > e-Verify returnsITD e-filing_e-Verify_ITR-V

  6. Click on “e-Verify“.

    A pop up will be displayed asking for your confirmation.E-verify return

  7. Click on “Continue“.

    ITR will be e-verified.Continue

  8. Download the acknowledgement attachment.

    Your return is now successfully e-verified.Return successful_e-Verified_ITR-V

Is e-Verification of my ITR compulsory?

Indeed. Just filing your return doesn’t end the process. e-Verification after filing is compulsory. e-Verification has to happen within 120 days of e-filing.

I don’t have an Axis bank account how can I e-Verify?

If you don’t have Axis bank account you can use other bank accounts like SBI, Kotak, ICICI, HDFC, etc. A list of all the bank accounts is given on the Income-tax e-filing portal. Moreover, you can also e-Verify using
– Aadhar OTP,
– Net banking,
– Bank account
– Demat account or
– DSC

What are the ways to e-Verify?

Return filed online has to be e-Verified online. Consequently, You can e-Verify your returns using
– Aadhar OTP
– Net banking
– Bank account
– Demat account or
– DSC

What are the benefits of e-Verification?

First of all, by doing the e-Verification tax filer will not have to sign and submit the documents to the CPC office in Bangalore. Moreover, your returns will complete the procedure faster than compared to other means.

  1. If I have filed a revised return, do I need to e-verify the original return or the previous return as well?

  2. Hi @Joe_Fernandes,

    If you are filing a revised return, you can only verify the latest revised return. If the previous versions of revised returns or original return is not verified, it will ve deemed to be invalid and won’t be processed by the ITD.

    e-verification using Aadhaar OTP is the most widely used and fastest method to verify your return.

  3. Hi,
    I had filed and e-verified my return in November 2021. I still haven’t received my refund and got the same email. Do I need to do anything? and how long until I get my refund?

  4. Hey @Nihal,

    In case you have successfully e-verified the return, you do not need to worry and can ignore the email.
    Usually, the refund takes 6-9 weeks from the ITR being processed. However, it may vary based on the case-to-case basis.
