An individual can search the list of taxpayers who have opted in/out of the Composition Scheme. This list is available at the GST Portal. The user could search for the list without logging in to the GST Portal. The instructions listed below explain the procedure to check status of composition scheme on GST Portal.
Check Composition Scheme Status – Before Login to GST Portal
- Visit GST Portal and Navigate to Search Composition Taxpayer
Visit the GST Portal. Go to Search Taxpayer > Search Composition Taxpayer
- Select Opt In or Opt Out
Select either Opt In for Composition Scheme or Opt Out of Composition Scheme from the dropdown
- Search using GSTIN
Enter GSTIN of the business and enter captcha. Click on Search to view the status
- Search using State
Enter State, Financial Year, Legal Name of the business and enter captcha. Click on Search to view the status
Check Composition Scheme Status – After Login to GST Portal
- Login to GST Portal using valid username and password
- Go to Search Taxpayer > Search Composition Taxpayer
- Search using GSTIN – Enter GSTIN of the business and enter captcha. Click on Search to view the status
- Search using State – Enter State, Financial Year, Legal Name of the business and enter captcha. Click on Search to view the status

Yes, You can switch between the Composition Scheme and the normal scheme on the basis of your turnover. The option to change is available in the beginning of the financial year. Taxpayer can opt in or withdraw from Composition Scheme by submitting an application on the GST Portal. However, this flip flop comes along with alterations in the way you issue invoices and file GST returns.
An individual who opted for composition pays tax under GST CMP-08 on a quarterly basis prior to the 18th of the subsequent month of the quarter during which the supplies were made (changeable by the government notification).
